Sepia Shoes

The soft detail in the wood shading really brings it all together. That one bit of wood grain near the toe of the shoe, directs the eyes at that view point gently. That tiny focal point gives a feeling of direction. As though she is subconsciously training to hit the mark every time, while putting on her shoes. At a distance, the shading gives off an appearance of a black and white photo that has aged. I can see this hung in a ballet studio. I miss those days when I was in ballet so many years ago as a child.
